SCS Software is currently working on adding both Spain and Portugal to Euro Truck Simulator 2, and that work has required a rework of southern France. These locations are close to the Iberian border, acting as a planned gateway to Euro Truck Simulator's planned Iberian expansion. Owners of Euro Truck Simulator 2's Vive La France DLC will receive access to two new French locations with the city of Bayonne and the smaller commune of Lacq. The southern part of the Bundesautobahn 7 has also been made available. Alongside this graphical touch-up, areas around Dortmund, Köln, Dusseldorf, and Duisburg have received a complete road network redesign, a few new intersections and several new roads. Update 1.4.0 also acts as the final phase of SCS Software's "Revisiting Germany Project", which has seen a small team of the company's mappers updating the oldest areas of Euro Truck Simulator's map to give these sections of the game a graphical touch-up. Now, Euro Truck Simulator looks better than ever, and SCS Software has further graphical updates in development. With update 1.40, PC's digital truckers can now enjoy reworked truck lights, new weather options, time-of-day/skybox combinations, improved mist effects in rainy weather, improved glass, chrome and paint reflections and rebalanced cabin/interior lighting.
